With friends like Lil Cease, who needs enemies? First, Lil Cease, of Junior M.A.F.I.A fame, testified against Lil Kim, in 2005 about a 2001 Manhattan shooting. Kim served 10 months in the bing for Cease’s generous rendition of the night’s activities. Then, two months before Kim was set to begin serving her sentence, she had to slap Cease with a $6 million lawsuit.
Kim was finally dealt justice yesterday (May 14) in a Manhattan court room. Judge Jed Rakoff ruled against Cease and his company Ground Zero Entertainment, awarding Ms. Jones a $500,000 settlement. Cease, born James Lloyd, used Kim’s name and image to promote the 2004 “Chronicles Of Junior M.A.F.I.A” DVD. Kim stated she never gave Cease permission to use her name and likeness. According to the AP, Cease “wrongly capitalized from Lil Kim’s fame.” Of course, the self professed “bitch pleaser” was not very pleased with the judge’s decision.
The Lil pair began their rap careers in the early 90’s as part of Junior M.A.F.I.A., a group assembled by the late Notorious B.I.G. Following Biggie’s death Kim left the group citing personal and business conflict with some of its members. Her and Cease remained close after her split from the group until his decision to testify at her trial.
