The New York Daily News’ Rush & Molly are reporting that R&B crooner Usher may be seeking the services of his mother as his manager again after allegedly firing her last year.

According to reports, Usher dropped the shocking bomb of him replacing his mother just a few days before Mother’s Day. A short time later, sources confirmed that he was hiring Benny Medina, the man behind Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez’s careers, to take the wheel.

Usher reportedly began feeling the sting of his decision after his new album “Here I Stand” failed to meet the sales and chart status of his previous release “Confessions.” Sources are now saying that he blames Medina for his album’s “poor” performance.

According to reports, Medina tried to soothe the sulking singer by convincing him that the album’s sales were commendable given the current climate of the record industry. All was well until N.O. native Lil Wayne smashed that theory by selling over one million copies of “Tha Carter III” in it’s first week.

“Usher was livid!,” a source told Rush & Molly. “He threatened to fire everyone.”

Usher also reportedly felt some kind of way over the ratings for the BET Awards, noting that Beyonce’s opening performance was viewed by 6.3 million people, while his was seen by 5.8 million.

“People have been telling Usher to listen to his mother,” said the source. “Nobody knows how to sell him better than she does. Usher can be stubborn. But he may be ready.”

Sources say that Usher allegedly fired his mother last year because she and his now wife, Tameka Foster, were not getting along. In an interview with Vibe, Usher denied kicking his mom to the notorious curb saying “[I paid her] the ultimate compliment – to rehire her to be a full-time grandmother.”
